Shimmin Rock Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Paso Robles is “one of the most dynamic wine regions in California” (Wine Spectator), offering great flavor and value. California’s No. 1 red, Cabernet Sauvignon, thrives in this sunny, rugged region, as you’ll taste in this fine example.

Shimmin Rock hails from Broken Earth Winery and mega-star winemaker Chris Cameron. Founded in 1973, Broken Earth focuses sustainability and quality throughout every stage of winemaking, which has resulted in numerous medals and 90+ point scores. That quality (and acclaim) has only increased since they brought on Chris, a 30-vintage veteran who has made wine on four continents and won over 600 medals and 70 major trophies – including the Jimmy Watson Trophy (Australia’s premier prize) and “The Best Merlot Worldwide” at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.

Thanks to the excellent 2017 vintage, Chris had his pick of perfectly ripe Cabernet from Broken Earth’s estate vineyards. Chris’s winemaking philosophy is all about doing as little as possible in the winery, so the varietal and regional character shine through in your glass. The resulting Cabernet bursts with luscious, dark-fruit flavor and a smooth-yet-vibrant finish, and will delight alongside hearty beef or pasta dishes.
