From Australia’s exciting RedHeads studio, this exclusive, multi-gold-medal blockbuster comes with a great story …
It all started nearly 20 years ago, with elite winemakers ‘moonlighting’ in a makeshift winery (formerly an Indian restaurant). By day, they made big volumes for well-known brands, knowing the wines could be improved, if it wasn’t for shareholders demanding 10,000s of cases. By night, they brought handfuls of grapes to practice their craft at RedHeads, where top quality in the bottle is the only ‘bottom line.’ And the acclaim soon followed …
“Must be tasted to be believed,” said top critic Robert Parker of Viottolo Sentiero, one of the very first RedHeads wines. “A taste of the product indicates that this operation is as serious as a heart attack,” raved Master of Wine Jancis Robinson.
These days, RedHeads wines sell for upwards of $75 a bottle, with 90+ Parker points among their many honors. We get first dibs on their range – and this intense, insiders-only red is a real treat.
Boasting three international gold medals, Coco Rôtie pays homage to the legendary Monkey King (that’s him on the label) and the sought-after wines of Côte-Rôtie in France’s northern Rhône. Like Côte-Rôtie, this exclusive stars red grape Syrah (aka Shiraz), with a splash of white beauty Viognier for extra aromatic oomph. And both varieties gain famously rich, ripe characters Down Under.
Crafted with grapes from a special McLaren Vale vineyard and aged for 14 months in fine oak barriques, Coco Rotie brims with lush black fruit, dark chocolate and toasty vanilla-spice flavors. A great match for classic Aussie meat pies, hearty pastas and more.
