Maria Zasa Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Legendary director Francis Ford Coppola has parlayed his family’s passion for food and wine into a slice of paradise. He looks after a beautiful estate in Sonoma, where the warm hospitality is outdone only by the quality of the wines. And it is with great pleasure that we present this special-edition Cabernet, crafted in honor of Francis’s beloved grandmother, Maria Zasa.
For a tribute this personal, everything had to be just right. Cabernet master Corey Beck selected the best grapes from prime-sited vineyards across Northern California – all of which thrived during the “excellent” 2017 vintage (Wine Enthusiast). Back in the winery, Corey treated the Cabernet to patient oak aging, imparting toasty chocolate notes to the wine’s rich black fruit and subtle mint flavors.
But the real finishing touch came from Francis himself: the beautiful label is a nod to Maria’s intricate crochet work. But don’t let its dainty design fool you – like the real-life Maria, this Cabernet is impressive, bold, and one-of-a-kind.
