Welcome to Argentina’s remote Patagonia region.
Here at the edge of the Earth, extremely harsh conditions force vines to produce tiny, thick-skinned Malbec grapes. The resulting wine delivers serious color and flavor in the glass. Your delicious example from Bordeaux native (and Malbec master) Hervé Fabre has a long history of very high ratings, including an international trophy from Decanter magazine. Now Master of Wine Tim Atkin is raving about the latest release:
“ … always distinctively fresh and refined, with red fruit flavors, tangy acidity and top notes of violet and rose petal. The oak is very well integrated here. 92 points.”
In addition to all that rich fruit flavor, the finish on this barrel-aged beauty is smooth, chocolaty and a mile long. It’s made for a juicy steak (but also great with mature cheeses and Hervé’s favorite, bittersweet chocolate cake).
