Donati Vineyard Selection Deano’s Block Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
The pioneering Donati family are a leading light producer in California’s Paso Robles region, which Wine Spectator calls “one of the most dynamic wine regions in California.”
For this exclusive Cabernet, winemaker Briana Heywood turned to one of the family’s favorite spots in their estate vineyards: “Deano’s Block.” This little nook was where Matt Donati’s faithful canine companion, Deano (named after famed crooner, Dean Martin), loved to frolic and chase squirrels.
Turns out, Matt’s pup had more than just a nose for furry critters – this particular vineyard block is known for producing exceptionally ripe, complex Cabernet grapes. Especially in a fantastic vintage like 2018.
Overflowing with ripe black fruit and complex earthy/baking spice notes, this is just the Cab to pair with juicy steak or char-grilled, double-cut pork chops.
