Domaine Pardon Beaujolais Villages Cuvee de l’Ermitage 2015

Award Winner
Gold, Concours des vins Lyon, 2016

This wine's quality stems from its source of grapes - from vineyards next door to the region's finest crus. The Pardons also prune hard to keep grape yields to a flavour enhancing minimum and undertake a rigorous selection of bunches at harvest time. Made from Gamay, a grape rarely grown elsewhere, Beaujolais wines are unique. Bright sun produces fresh, fruity, delicious reds with an easy drinking, moreish quality that somehow celebrates day to day living! As Jancis Robinson MW notes, it's "a delightful wine style you should not overlook if you view wine as something to be drunk and enjoyed, rather than traded in" (The FT). Cuvée de l'Ermitage from the outstanding 2015 vintage is particularly compelling. Perfect for charcuterie or gougères.
