Chateau Saumade 2017 2016

There’s never been a better time to discover the delicious, fruit-rich reds of Corbières. The ancient region has long been an insider favorite for its fantastic value and it’s “forging a new reputation for great quality and great terroirs” (Decanter).

Château Saumade has been home to winemaking since 1172. And, as Corbières has earned more recognition, its wines have attracted extra attention, too. This blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre (like the Rhône’s famed reds) won a gold medal in top French guide Gilbert & Gaillard: “an easy-drinking Corbières in a crowd-pleasing style.”

The wine overflows with perfectly ripe blackberry, licorice and classic garrigue (wild herb) notes—and was left unoaked so that all the delicious, fruit-rich flavor shines through.
