Chateau Moulin du Prieur 2018
The good times keep rolling for Bordeaux fans. 2018 has proved to be yet another stellar vintage, producing “wonderful wines with a beautiful depth of ripe fruit and polished, strong tannins,” writes expert James Suckling.
And we’re here to give you a taste of this blockbuster year, with this boutique find from an estate nestled in the heart of Bordeaux, just five miles from the medieval town of Saint-Emilion (home to some of the region’s finest wines).
Château Moulin du Prieur is run by father-son team Didier and Arnaud Merit, the grandson and great-grandson of the estate’s founder, Emmanuel Merit. Their sunny, south-facing slopes yield beautifully ripe grapes – Merlot lends velvety, black plum character, Cabernet Sauvignon gives the wine structure and cassis notes, and Cabernet Franc adds a complex earthy-spice character.
