1826 Bourbon Barrel Aged Zinfandel 2017
Take flavor-packed Zinfandel, California’s signature red. Age it in barrels used to mature bourbon, America’s famed whiskey. Bingo. You have a uniquely American wine every big red fan needs to taste.
Named for the year charred barrels were first used to age bourbon, 1826 is a landmark release, crafted by acclaimed winemaker Adam Popp. A big whiskey fan, Adam selected heavily charred bourbon barrels for the distinctive, smoky, mocha edge they add to Zinfandel’s plush black currant and ripe blackberry flavors. The results are very impressive (serve it up with a heaping plate of sweet-n-tangy barbecue beef ribs and you’ll really be in for a treat).
